Founded on the 8 April 1980 by Les Hopkins, McCredie Park Aquatics was an offspring of Cabramatta Swim Club. After leaving Cabramatta Les decided to start a brand new club, McCredie Park Aquatics Amateur Swimming Club, at the recently opened Guildford Swimming Centre. Les took on the role of our first president and head coach.
Our club continued to grow and progress with many swimmers competing at Metro, State, National and Open National levels. As our club grew in numbers and experience our name also underwent a change, McCredie Park Aquatics Swimming Club, no longer referencing the ‘amateur’ in our name.
In 2012 our club decided that it was time for a bit of a ‘spruce up’ and a decision to modernise our club was made. As a result, we changed our club logo and started up electronic media outlets such as a Website and Facebook page. Although much time passed since our beginning, we still strongly stand by our original values and beliefs to provide all swimmers with an encouraging and supportive environment throughout their swimming career.
2020 marked 40 strong years of McCredie Park Aquatics as we progress and grow our club for the future.
